REBECCA
THE HANDS BEHIND RUBINA PRESS
Rebecca Edgar is an artist, designer and head flower surgeon at RUBINA PRESS. Born in Belfast, she graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2012 with a degree in Fine Art Painting and Printmaking. Since then, she has exhibited both locally and internationally, with artworks held in both private and public national collections.

Although now based in Belfast, Rebecca also teaches part-time at the Glasgow School of Art.

My work attempts to define the subtleties of mathematical repetition found within nature; the cyclical rotations which govern movement, time and growth. Self-contained specimens are subject to delicate investigation, which then act a a referent in an attempt to identify any correlation of (or reposition) order.

Accentuating the beauty, subtle rhythms and anomalies of nature simultaneously leads me to withdrawing and alienating forms from their likely surroundings, where their cellular existence divides and multiplies anew.

And hence, RUBINA PRESS was born.
